THE 10 YEAR CYCLE – My Career Changes

Every 10 years or so something cataclysmic happens in my career or in my life.

Some good. Some bad. But life goes on.

I started life in the courts for the first 3 years of my working career, then came out to private practice in a big firm for another 5-6 years.

Then a big change occured. I left for another growing firm and saw it grow from 50 Lawyers when I joined, to 350 today.

I practised in that firm for the next 10 years.

After being a practising litigation partner in that firm for 10 years, I left the legal profession to become a Regional Chief Operating Officer in the business world.

And put on a earring.

I was in the business world in that role for four years.

I subsequently came back to my law firm to take charge of regional operations and head up business development for South East Asia.

It’s been quite a ride.

And I am proud to have been part of an amazing bunch of people who had a unique vision and who have created something special in this part of the world.

But I’m now at another 10 year mark.

So I just resigned.

Another challenge awaits.

A big one.

I can feel the wolf rising.
